What is the science behind genetically modified foods?

To make genetically modified food (GM Food), you need to know science. Genetically modified foods are made from organisms that have had some changes put into their DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) using the methods of genetic engineering. These techniques have allowed for the introduction of new crop traits as well as a far greater control over a food's genetic structure that previously afforded by methods like 'selective breeding' or 'mutation breeding'
